Adv. Computer Science Undergrad with 85/100 WAM, with 50+ software projects of experience. Hey! 👋 My name is Martin. Through my extensive experience with tutoring both in high school and university, I have mastered the art of boosting students' academics beyond the boundary of the impossible. My goal in life is to give back the knowledge that was given to me. I pride myself in my ability to explain genuinely complex concepts to an in-depth level without overcomplicating the explanation, but also in my ability to refine a more deep-digging and precise answer for the interested student. Whether you wish to catch up or get ahead of your peers, we can work together to get you where you want to be. 👍 I'm a firm believer that learning doesn't have to be difficult if the material is taught in the right way. As a result, when we work together, my focus as a tutor is on: - Discovering what the “right way” is for you as a student by seeing what works and what doesn’t. - Capitalizing on that knowledge to shape a deep, solid and insightful understanding of even the trickiest of concepts. Where possible, I make methodical use of visualizations and helpful analogies tailored to the problem at hand, which make it easy to grasp the bigger picture, and know why you’re learning something. I am able to adapt to your level of knowledge of the language, and explain as slowly or as quickly as you wish, ensuring that you take away the key points and fine details needed to succeed in computing & IT related academia. I understand everyone comes from different backgrounds, and I have previously gotten positive feedback from students about my patient approach. Some of my personal experience involves writing a research operating system, a Discord-like chat app, a distributed timetabling service for my high school, and high fidelity graphical development here and there. I am currently in the progress of working on an AI-powered autonomous drone swarm, which I’m looking forward to continuing. I am open to both online and in-person tutoring (around UNSW) on whatever platform works (Zoom, Discord, Teams, etc.)! I would strongly encourage that our first lesson be in-person to lay down the groundwork and plan how to go forward. An example of a good in-person meeting spot might be a UNSW library study room or classroom that I will take care of arranging for our session. My teaching rates are: 👥 $39/hr per student if you bring up to 4 friends (max 5 people in a session to stay productive). 👤 $49/hr for a single one-on-one session without discounts. 🔥 On top of those rates, you get a 15% discount if you pre-book 6 sessions. If you have a question, or just want to chat, feel free to reach out! I’ll respond as soon as possible. 😊
