I'm a former University of Melbourne tutor with a PhD in maths. I also have 5 years of private one-on-one tutoring experience. I offer tutoring both in-person and online. I have a student-led, empathetic approach to tutoring, creating a safe environment for students to ask questions, offer their ideas and, most importantly, make mistakes! I'm passionate about mathematics and flexible in how I teach things, working out how the student learns best and letting them guide the tutoring sessions. Rather than lecturing or solving their problems for them, I encourage the student to engage with the material and share their understanding with me. In this way, I can quickly pinpoint the thing they're having trouble with and help them overcome it.
