Hi all!
I am a current PhD candidate in Psychology, a Master of Research in Psychology (HD) and Bachelor of Psychology (Honours, 1st class) graduate. I am also a sessional teaching academic for 3rd year Psychology and COGS units.
I graduated BPsych(Hons) with the Academic Excellence Award, on top of being on the merit list for nearly all of my years at MQ.
I started writing great assignments the hard way: it didn't come naturally and it didn't come easy. I had to learn the numerous key aspects of what constitutes an excellent written assignment and therefore know exactly the path there. I went from Credits to reliable HDs by applying the skills I learned along the way. I'm keen to help my fellow psychology students learn and apply these skills with their written assignments.
I offer 3 options:
1. Assignment Planning + Outline ($40 1h or $60 1.5h):
In this option, we will have a session in which I teach you what exactly the assignment is asking for and how to approach it. Additionally, we will construct an outline together focusing on all the relevant points to your assignment aim. For example, if your research question is "How does exercise impact cognitive development?" I will give you specific pointers on how to answer this question comprehensively and a step by step guide on how to do it. This option is often best for when you haven't quite yet started: by creating a comprehensive outline beforehand, all you need to do is fill in the gaps afterwards - saving yourself heaps of time that would have gone to waste by looking at irrelevant papers or making irrelevant arguments.
2. Marking: Proof-reading and suggestions for edits or content changes ($30 per 1500 words):
Consider this as if you had 2 go's at submitting your assignment! I am a tutor for the University so I have the experience and knowledge of what a marker is looking for. This allows me to give you the realistic feedback you need to bump up your grade as much as possible.
In this option, I will read your draft and make clear suggestions on what to change, delete or expand on. Additionally, I offer suggestions on how to re-arrange the structure to make it flow better. This option is often best for when you've understood your assignment but need to make sure you've communicated effectively, clearly and concisely.
3. Stats: Reading, reporting and interpreting Stata outputs ($30 1h or $50 1.5h):
In this option, I will teach you how to read the relevant Stata output, report them in a clear and concise manner, suggest what should go in tables and what shouldn't, and how to interpret your outputs in light of your hypothesis or research question.
