UniMelb Business Tutor Shalina

I had Shalina as a tutor for CFDM(FNCE20005) over summer. Her explanations were always very easy to understand and obviously understands what she’s teaching very well. She was a massive help throughout the intensive summer term period and I’m very happy I chose her as my tutor.

Shalina is an excellent tutor with a wealth of knowledge and ability. Her sessions are comprehensive, allowing her students to gain a full breadth of understanding of course content. Shalina helped me throughout my final year of undergraduate studies (2023) and was the guiding force in enabling me to achieve a H1 in Derivative Securities, among helping me achieve grades I never expected I could get in other subjects, including Intermediate Microeconomics, Investments and Basic Econometrics. Shalina was incredibly patient and cared for my learning. She instilled in me that no question is a stupid question, this allowed me to go into exams with so much more confidence knowing I had no final regrets about course content. There is no tutor I could recommend more highly.

Shalina tutored me this semester and I am so glad to have found her!! She went through content very thoroughly and helped me understand concepts I was struggling with. Within each tute she gave me the chance to ask questions and was very understanding when I was finding topics difficult. She was also very flexible with my busy schedule and offered online and in-person tutes which helped me feel organised and supported throughout the semester. I definitely recommend her, she has been so supportive and helped me pass all my subjects!!

Shalina, is an amazing tutor. I am studying Commerce at the University of Melbourne. Shalina has been very helpful in assisting me with exam study and also support throughout the year where I have struggled to understand difficult concepts. I would highly recommend her. She is the best tutor I have every had, and I intend to continue tutorials with her next year.

I worked with Shalina during semester 2 2022, she is a knowledgeable, friendly tutor. She helped me in a subject I was struggling in and I became more confident in it prior to the exam. I highly recommend her.

I was struggling with introductory microeconomics and came to Shalina after failing my first assignment and was told that "much work is needed to ensure a pass". Shalina was able to go through my assignments with me and patiently explain even the simplest of concepts to me to make sure that I a good grasp of the ideas. Eventually I was able to comfortably pass the final exam and the subject. Shalina is an extremely approachable and capable tutor! Would not hesitate reaching out to her!

Started with Shalina for the first semester 2022 for Inter Micro, OB and Econometrics and she definitely has an intensive knowledge on all these subjects from marking criteria knowledge to study tips on each subject! She's also really patient and will happily repeat her explanations for challenging topics/questions! Most importantly, Shalina is overall a really friendly person so working with her has been a great experience and highly recommend her if you need a boost in your grades!

I have worked with Shalina for the past year and I cannot recommend her enough! Shalina has a broad while also specific knowledge that she can pull out of her head whenever required. She replies quickly and is always keen to help. As seen in her profile she has attained amazing grades, though as a tutoring ability to convey this knowledge is of the highest quality - (some tutors get good grades but are unable to convey this knowledge across, this is not the case with Shalina.) I plan to continue to work with Shalina this year in 2022. As stated above, I could not recommend her enough.

Many thanks to Shalina for the last minute help in preparing for my Inter Macro exam. I went into the class feeling very lost and confused with the lengthy proofs and heavy algebra, but Shalina was very knowledgeable and patient, taking the time and care to recognise and work on specific gaps in my knowledge (and even waking up extra early to give me one last class before the exam!). She is a very thoughtful and friendly tutor - I would recommend her to all!

Shalina is a very friendly, patient, passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated tutor. When I was not sure how to tackle my first university assignment, Shalina was able to help me understand the requirements of the assignment and was able to provide me with some very helpful tips, which really boosted my confidence. Shalina was also always more than happy to answer any questions I had after our lesson. Her Organisational Behaviour notes also helped me understand the content in much greater detail! I would highly recommend Shalina as your tutor!

Shalina was my tutor for sem 2 2021. She has been such a nice and helpful tutor. She taught everything in detail and explained the answer from basic steps which make the uni context seem so much easier. She also has flexible tutoring time so it is very convenient for me. Highly recommend her to be your tutor if you have any troubles with any econ subjects or essay subjects.

I had to join student vip quickly for coaching to do my special exams (s1 2021) and I'm extremely grateful to have found Shalina. She is patient and intelligent. She does indeed reply very fast via messaging to any of my clarifications after the session which I'm sure a lot of tutors do not usually do. Her style of teaching is very versatile as I had sessions for both CFDM and BLAW. I did additional practice questions and papers that she had made/sourced which I found very helpful as I initially did not understand them well but was able to after a few tries. I have gained the confidence I needed to take my exams; Highly recommend her to anyone hoping to achieve a great score in their subject!

With an already intense workload for semester 1 2021, I required exceptional notes to not only get the grade I wanted in OB but more importantly have more time to study for my L3 subjects. Shalina always went that extra mile to answer any questions I had in the lead up to my OB exam. Shalina's collection of notes and examples from the cases are a must have for those undertaking OB! I'm so glad I found Shalina as my tutor! She helped me a lot with understanding the materials and how to answer certain questions, helped explain the more mathematical-based questions, and was very very patient when explaining them^^ She's very intelligent, helpful, and very very friendly. She also provides a flexible tutoring time as I've had sessions with her at night as well. I highly recommend her!

I have started coaching for the semester 2 2020 after joining Unimelb in July. I was really worried to start uni online without knowing anyone but Shalina really helped me be comfortable with the new content as she is patient and very flexible in terms of teaching. Learning the material in advance has prepared me well. I am almost halfway through learning the course for the subject and am confident as ever as maths has never been my strong suit. Highly recommend her!
