It is waaaay easier if you did CRM120 before. The unit has a lot of material available and is thoroughly explained. It is challenging, but once you get the hang of it, it just works!

Not only is this a CORE unit in psychology, but it is also one of the more challenging ones out there especially since this is a first-year unit. It would be tough without help from tutors and/or mentors.

Unfortunately I had the worst possible lecturer for this unit and he left most of us feeling very confused, didn't answer our questions properly and seemed to think because he knew statistics then we should too. I struggled with this unit and studied it to the detriment of my other units.

Definitely requires an understanding of statistics. Having already done LEG120 Legal research definitely helps for those who are doing criminology/psychology together

For many psychology students, even the ones who did the subject in high school first, this unit is the hardest to grasp in the first year of university. If you do not already have a strong understanding of statistics with mathematics, this unit will present a great challenge. However, I believe it is definitely worth it. I was very lucky to have one of the funniest and patient unit coordinators running this course at the time, and the tutors are just as willing to help you out when you need it (even if that's a lot!) - just ask.
