Poorly run subject where nothing is taught that is assessed. Every assessment is completely irrelevant to the course material, even the team workshop questions are meaningless dribble. First 3 weeks nothing is taught then it is all crammed in. Just the fact that the workshops and practicals are named the opposite way around shows how mismanaged and disorganised this unit is. Also the labs are done in the first two weeks with teams that you don't even do the reports with, which are due in the last week, so you don't even remember what you did in the lab. 8 weeks in and I still haven't seen a single assessment that requires using the theory taught. RIP mechanical students, no way to avoid this, whoever gave this a 5 star review is 100% a paid bot

Great subject, challenging, and learned a lot. The way that these tie in with mechanics courses at Monash, namely fluid mechanics, is really well taught.
