Only take this unit if you enjoy ancient history and political philosophy. I took this unit thinking it'd be more relevant to modern politics, being an ignorant first year I did not consult the unit guide properly, and thus I am finding myself in a situation of much regret. I'm really not a fan of ancient history nor philosophy, if you are you'll probs enjoy this unit, but if not learn from my mistakes and spare yourself.

If you have an interest in politics AND history, this is a pretty good unit but if you don't, you might find it a little boring and slow-moving. Assessments were reasonable and the exam was a lot less scary than they made it out to be. Really good for giving a broad overview of political theory.
