Reviews

This subject doesn't really go to the IT spectrum even tho it is required. There are 2 quizzes which are 15% each. The quizzes aren't too bad if you had did the readings and watched the lectures. The good thing about the unit is the lectures are online only and there is no final exam, however I felt like the literature review and major assignment was marked harshly. I haven't actually read the readings I only watched the lectures and still passed. Overall everyone can pass it.

The online lectures are not engaging enough to provide good enough recall. It appears that my major assessment was not marked according to the rubric, and little to no feedback was given in regards to the mark. Also, bear in mind that the final lessons of the unit are for "brainstorming", which doesn't provide much discussion. However, in saying that, it is not a difficult subject to pass, and you will end up getting those credit points you need, so that you can do a unit you want to do.

a fun and engaging unit; was nice that there was only a tut for the entire week and the hour just made up of a discussion about that week’s topics. the assessments were relatively easy to do, as long as you have enough time to do it and revise if needed. Especially the final project. There’s no final exam and the project, although in essence easy, requires a lot of time and effort if you want an HD. overall great unit. My tutor, Rewa, was very helpful with any questions about the assessments and topics.

really bad

Looks at a wide range of different media technologies each week, and a very general introductory media unit. Not too hard, but there's a lot of different content. The readings aren't too heavy, but if you aren't ahead of them it's easy to get lost in tutorials.

Easy unit but not very engaging. Tutorials were basically a waste of time and involved a lot of group work. The two online quizzes were easy and there's no final exam.

Less relevant to an IT degree than you might think, but good filler. No final exam and easy online lectures- tough marking on the essays though.

Digital Media only comprises maybe 4 weeks of this course. Useless for an IT degree. Waste of time. But very easy GPA booster.

Lectures are short and sweet (and online), class is engaging, assignments more than reasonable and no final. Worthwhile class.
