I cannot begin to describe how much I loved this unit. Simon is a fantastic and fair convenor, who is very approachable and willing to (in my case at least) re-open the weekly quizzes if you transfer in late, or grant extensions for assessments with little complaint. Despite the COVID crisis, the class continued on with pracs and lectures, with the pracs mostly consisting of virtual field trips to various locations, and filling out a worksheet on them. Though this sounds bland, it was actually very interesting and a much better substitute for pracs compared to other units I have taken. The weekly quizzes were pretty easy, and were a good way to get ahead and get a good mark for a large portion of your total mark. The assessments were pretty fun too, especially the lander project. I enjoyed designing my own lander and picking its landing spot, and justifying this. Highly recommend this unit for science students and others alike!

I loved this class. Simon is fantastic, assessment tasks are balanced and enjoyable and weekly lecture quizzes help me to stay on top of all the content which was super interesting. You can't go wrong with GEOS204.

I dont enjoy science at all but this unit was worth it. Simon understands that most people choose this as a planet unit and is very easy going, relaxed and kind. Marks are easily achievable in this unit and was overall just interesting to study

Simon goes at a good pace in his lectures and most of the content is really interesting! If anyone wants to learn more about the search for life on other planets, then this is the unit for you. The marking was quite generous as well. Highly recommend this unit.

Simon George is the convenor and lecturer for most of the weeks. The content is laid out very clearly and are very interesting. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for an interesting and low-stressing Planet unit
