The usual convenor of FRN was away on research leave for the session, so we were put with the most feared and biased FRN teacher Dr Kurmann. Assessment tasks and exams must be tailored to her political bias in order to achieve a good mark, otherwise she will criticise you heavily. Furthermore, she is a NZ-born French purist who refuses to explain difficult concepts in English, leaving students to meet-up after class and ascertain what was actually required for homework or assessment tasks. Overall, this unit should've been a natural progression from FRN 336 on french speaking, however it was warped into a over-politicised and confused unit focused on political ideology taught in the French language.
