Unit has little to no relationship to environmental management and should be renamed. Essentially a propaganda vehicle for the convenor, the unit is light on learning and high on one-sided arguments. Assessments are basic and feedback is light and pointless. No exam means no incentive to go to lectures, which in some ways is a blessing as the lectures are long (2 hours) and don't really give you much of use. Great if you want an EASY unit you don't have to think for. Pointless if you have a desire to learn and want useful skills.

LEctures (2 hours) are a bit much, boring sometimes. You really dont need to attend them to pass the assignments. NO EXAM - poster instead. Podcast was really good. ASSIGNMENTS EASY AND INTERESTING.

A really cool class to take if you have any interest in Environmental issues, both locally and globally. Great readings and interesting lectures.

I recommend avoiding this unit unless it is a prerequisite for another unit you are interested in. It touches on a wide range of topics, but some of the practical activities are not very accessible for the layman learner. Assessment marking follows the rubrick too closely and allows little room for alternate solutions. Feels more like a high school subject than university level study.
