This subject was really a drag. The lectures were dull which often made it hard to focus. The pracs often took so long for no reason (the tutors were good though). The mid sem exam sucked, it was on your computer and was really hard to read for a long period especially for decoding/coding DNA questions. The final exam was alright.

Great unit!!! The lecturer and the tutors are amazing!!!! Stay on top of the course, and try to get full marks in the quizzes and written tasks, and do the past papers. You'll be fine!

Good Unit. Great lecturer. The concepts are sometimes difficult but are fundamental to the rest of your studies. I recommend at least watching all of the lectures even if you don't take notes. Practicals are easy but can drag on some weeks. Assessments are easy. Overall, great unit. Only criticism - too much multiple choice in the mid-sem and final (but is that really a criticism?)

A brilliant unit! Absolutely fundamental to all biology and prepares you for the rest of your biology major! It also has PAL sessions which are run by amazing students who each recieved HDs! They really know their stuff and I encourage everyone to go!

Unit was very interesting, however, I was disappointed in the lack of organisation of this unit. This is a very content heavy subject so I recommend revising every week. I found this unit to be quite difficult as there were so many definitions to learn each week

Enjoyable subject, Friendly and Knowledgable Faculty Staff. Really easy to do well in, just make sure you attempt all the past papers available on multisearch prior to the finals.

Topics were interesting at times, practicals were interesting. Needed to rote learn for the exams

Interesting but pretty hard, you need to make sure you keep on top of the work as there is a lot of content. Pracs are boring but no tutes :) I really enjoyed it.

The assignments are super useful, as well as the practicals providing you with good tips and techniques for more advanced biology subjects!

Excellent unit with very well structured assessments! The practical is a little bit long and sometimes the tutors don't explain the concepts as well as the lecturers.
