This unit, especially lectured by Dr Jie Chen, is heavily based around China and will give you a critical understanding of China and its history and influence on East and Southeast Asia! Tutorial discussions really help you to understand some of the topics covered.

Loved this unit - comprehensive, interesting lectures and the tutor was knowledgable and encouraged us to work hard. Although it does not involve historiography as such, history students who wish UWA provided more information on the history of our neighbours might appreciate the overview this unit provides.

Content was manageable. But the tutor needs to learn how to give appropriate feedback to students as many of us were criticised throughout the semester rather than given any constructive feedback for improvement.
