Weekly practical labs helped to develop skills we would not be able to in less frequent sessions. Initially I was concerned about assessments that relied so heavily on other group members, however it was great that we could choose our own groups, ensuring we worked with like-minded people. Step-by-step statistics guidance was useful, and using excel meant students didn’t require knowledge about packages like R/Genstat to achieve a suitable result. Wet labs, especially with organ baths, confer invaluable experiences that make pharmacology stand out from other science majors offered at UWA.
