I completed MATH1711 in semester 2 of 2013 and 1712 in semester 1 2014. I'm willing to help someone...
The lecturer was excellent. Followed a very structural approach. Didn't need to go further than what was taught in the lectures and as long as you understood whatever was assessed, you did well in the exam. No tricks.

The best thing about this unit is the lecturer Miccal because he is extremely dedicated to teaching well and helping us understand what in the world is going on in the unit. Very friendly, approachable, open to different solving methods even in exams (since some students may have learnt it before using a different technique). It is almost like being back in high school- although you still need to self-study on your own time- but the workshop problems provided are more than enough. Although I must say that a couple of exam questions were tougher than what was in the provided question bank. Overall a great unit, not much effort, highly recommended!

The lecturer is amazing, highly recommend this unit, have previously done it with a rubbish lecturer. But Miccal explains everything and makes it super understandable!
