I did this unit as an elective and I loved it! Luisa made her lectures fun and interesting. The tutorial preps and tutorials are easy to understand and pretty relaxed. The assignments are online quizzes that are open for 2 weeks (I think that was the duration) and they consisted of multiple choice questions and very short answers (one word answers). There was an exam but Luisa helped make sure we were really well prepared for it and due to this I did well. If you're interested in this unit, do it! I ended up getting a Higher Distinction in this unit :)

This unit is just so fun. Amanda is iconic. She's really passionate about the content. The tutes are easy and fun. This unit made me decide to make Linguistics my second major. Highly recommend as an elective or to complement your English major.

The contents are interesting and engaging. Easy marks before final exam (tutorial preparation and weekly MCQ quizzes). Listen to the lectures and understand the concepts discussed, then you’ll nail the final exam!

An enjoyable subject, where you learn lots of information that is interesting and is applicable to your life. Although there seems to be a lot of content, the exam structure is very clear about what is required, and so you can streamline your studying to the few main areas. I studied for the exam about 1.5 weeks before the exam and finished with a HD. Easy marks in tutorial preparation, and there are weekly quizzes strictly on lecture content.
