This unit was very content heavy! It is now considered a level 3 unit - LAWS3221, however, I have done a level 3 LAWS unit before and it was not as hard as this one. I think what made it so hard was the unit coordinator Jani. She was very hard to communicate with, often times replying to questions on email like “correct” / “not correct, look at LMS”. During the lectures, she would also use very sophisticated language which would often get lost in translation! There were also lots of complex and complicated readings for the lectures and the tutes, with tutes requiring you to do extra research. Jani also seems to be very strict, for example, she made it very much a point that assignments needed to be formatted properly in font size, spacing etc. AGLC Referencing also had to be perfect otherwise marks would be deducted. For assignments as well, she would make it a requirement that you submit things like an essay Abstract and Title two weeks before the essay is due which would just create more stress, especially after the fact that this wasn’t graded or contributed to the essay word count. If I were you I would do social media and the law with Marilyn over this unit any day.
