Hi, my name is Helen, and I'm studying Criminology at UWA. I completed year 12 in 2019 with an ATAR...

Learned lots of grammar, read an Italian novel, and lots of Italian short stories! My speaking didn't improve much but my reading and writing did.

The unit is an extension for the first year units 1403/1404. It is taught in conjunction with the 1405 (advanced first year) and 3405 (beginner third year) as individually these classes are quite small. There are 4 compulsory classes per week which involve a lot of preparation, which without make attending the classes quite useless. The most interesting part of the unit is the Italian novel study, which while challenging enhances your comprehension and reading ability. There is not examination in this unit.
