Hi, I'm a second-year student at UWA majoring in Medical Sciences. As a tutor I'll do my best to...
I liked how this unit was nicely separated into two topics, blood and drugs. The content was pretty interesting and wasn’t too hard to study although I feel like it is kind of hard to evaluate this unit as it was greatly overpowered by the heavy content of IMED2001. I felt that the tests and exams were fair however, that’s not to say that they weren’t hard. You still had to study a lot more than other units and the questions were very specific and required in depth knowledge of every tiny detail but provided you are willing to put in the effort you can get a good mark.

So this unit is divided into Blood topics (pre-break) and Drug topics (post-break). expect a lot of memorizing/rote learning in the blood topics but easy enough- prep well for the exam though because the tests for blood topics were ridiculously easy but then the blood section of the exam was just plain betrayal. drugs topic- tests were only a little bit more difficult. the lecturers were kind enough to say which lectures were in the exam SAQs which made it easy for us to study (memorize lol) for this topic. drug concepts need to be well understood so this might be the only 'intellectually-challenging' part. overall an easy unit during semester, but a plot-twist difficult exam at the end. got a HD but barely scraped
