Overall a fair unit. Lecturer is very knowledgeable and tutorials are very useful if you get her as your tutor. Midsem and final aren't easy but doing tutorial questions should prepare you well; the calculations in the exams are very similar to tutorials, and are actually easier. The hardest part of the exams is the theory, since a lot of specific questions are asked, so make sure you don't miss anything on the lecture slides, and go through the articles that are attached to the tutorials. Weekly online quizzes are easy, and the group assignment was a 15 minute presentation, so not too much effort required. If you're interested in banking, I think you will enjoy this unit.

the final exam is worth 40% which is really handy if you do well in the mid sem exam and group assignment. The midsem is 20% and all multi choice and let me tell you right now that quizlet and studocu are your best friends ;) (IYKYK). The final exam was mostly multiple choice but the calc and short answer questions were so hard so the exam overall was really tough. Its not a bad unit just a bit boring because lectures are so long and content heavy but the unit itself isn't hard just make sure u do well in group assignment and final exam so even if u butcher the final exam your g. I didnt go to 1 tutorial and got a HD so its possible.

This unit isn't easy. The best way to prepare for the midsem (which was harsh, bc a question stumped me and I got 42%) and the final exam is to keep practising the tute questions and go through the lecture slides. Going to the consultation sessions helps to clarify your understanding of the concepts. Make sure to participate in tutorials, because those are easy full marks. I pulled through with a CR.
