This unit really summed up the entire geology course. The first half of it was amazing and the second half was absolutely deplorable. 1. Mike walks around the classroom shouting at students, “get off your fucking phone, for fuck sake.” Or “the thing that pisses me off the most, is teaching geologists geology”. The fact that he can get away with this really is quite incredible, but he is not the only one lecturer in the geology department acting in an unacceptable manner. 2. Just as with both structural geology units in the second half of the degree, in the second half of this unit, the marking was completely inconsistent and all over the place. 3. Same as the above, just as with the second half of the geology course, the assessments in the second half of the semester were based on things that were not taught in class - I.e. reservoir quality. It’s so disappointing that lecturers in this university can get away with such bad behaviour.
