Good unit and pretty easy (as far as a maths unit goes). Doesn't assume any prior knowledge, content is very straightforward, a tonne of materials is made available for practice questions, and assignments are easy marks if you're keeping up with the lectures. I think this unit has been made easier compared to previous sems.

Great unit and content. The lectures delivered by Manou are great and she is very helpful! The timed assessments are quite hard in terms of the time given to do them. I found the later half of the unit delivered by Mark quite dry.

About 200 people enrolled in this unit and about 30 turned up for the final exam and there was still a lot of empty seats with papers in front of them. The 4 tests given during the semester vary drastically in difficulty. The final exam was just a bad dream. For those not in the computer science course, software engineering or data science and if this unit is not a compulsory requirement, save yourself the trouble and do not do this unit. It will bite at your WAM/GPA. The unit was do-able, but was it worth all that trouble? No, just no.
