Very difficult content to understand and learn if you are not math inclined (solving proofs, etc.) Youtube is more helpful than the lecturer at explaining concepts. However, the assessments are quite good and easy to do if you take the time and start them early (2 assignments, 1 presentation of a proof). Exam is made up of tutorial questions so not too bad. Definitely one of the more difficult computing units.

Content is very interesting but overwhelming. I found Matthew the lecturer and the TAs to be pretty bad at explaining stuff so just rely on the slides and AI. The exam was ridiculously easy compared to past papers and assessments.

Solid unit, straight forward for a math unit. The lecture content wasn't too fast or slow. Weekly quizzes were simple and easy. The exam exclusively consisted of questions we had already seen with different numbers, so as long as you keep up with the lectures + do the worksheets, you'll be fine. To do well, make sure you do the take homes as they come, don't wait till the end. Also look online for past exams, there are plenty, and are all pretty similar to the actual exam.

Good unit and pretty easy (as far as a maths unit goes). Doesn't assume any prior knowledge, content is very straightforward, a tonne of materials is made available for practice questions, and assignments are easy marks if you're keeping up with the lectures. I think this unit has been made easier compared to previous sems.

Great unit and content. The lectures delivered by Manou are great and she is very helpful! The timed assessments are quite hard in terms of the time given to do them. I found the later half of the unit delivered by Mark quite dry.

About 200 people enrolled in this unit and about 30 turned up for the final exam and there was still a lot of empty seats with papers in front of them. The 4 tests given during the semester vary drastically in difficulty. The final exam was just a bad dream. For those not in the computer science course, software engineering or data science and if this unit is not a compulsory requirement, save yourself the trouble and do not do this unit. It will bite at your WAM/GPA. The unit was do-able, but was it worth all that trouble? No, just no.
