Reviews

Chem 3006 is an interesting unit which is easy to pass. Only about 25 students do it. Do your work and you will pass. Most people get 70% or above and you have to be very slack or stupid not to pass. Lecturers are clever, but tend to never answer your emails and don't really know much about the lab experiments. They only like you if you get good grades and start to bother you to do honours with them next year. The labs notes have not been updated for years and the experiments don't match the instructions. The bald Lord Voldermort lab technician , apparently a UWA legend, is the only one who knows what is going on at all and goes around helping us all the time. He said he's been there for at least 50 years and will be for another 50 years. So overall its a good unit, much , much better than the synthetic ones that are hell.

This unit consists of two parts. The first part was taught by Rob. His content was very detail and his video quality was not good enough. The second part was taught by Iyer. His content is nice and quite clear. All of the lectures were only available online. Video assignment was quite nice for us to do research and explore the areas of it. Labs are quite easy in procedures and marking, but some of the lab manuals were not quite clear. Exam was quite easy as most of the questions are quite similar with the workshop, some of them are slightly higher level.
