Amazing unit - lecturer Martin Forsey is passionate about the subject and teaching. Every tutorial is structured differently, very interactive and fun! Content is so interesting - about globalisation from Australian society, migration, free trade to music. Great as a broadening for anyone keen to learn more about globalisation and culture!

Pretty interesting unit if you did ANTH1001. The lectures were a bit boring but the tutorials made up for it. The quizzes are moderately easy if you do the readings. The final exam was easy. Only a 1 hour lecture and 1 hour tutorial so I'd recommend it as a broadening unit.

Took this on the assumption it'd be an easy broadening unit... don't make my mistake. Some of the content - moreso the latter part about Australia - was interesting but there seemed to be a general lack of feedback and guidance by the lecturer. Additionally, it took 4 weeks to get assignment marks for a simple 1500 word essay and the tutorial grades weren't divulged to students. We were told little with regards to the final exam essay question beyond the broad topic and ended up needing to write a response to a specific article from memory. If you're looking for a Cat A broadening, there's less annoying things to take than this.
