Really fun unit! Super easy to stay engaged and 100% would recommend to take as an elective. VERY easy assignments. You can tell the lecturers are having fun. The first module is the worst so don't be put off by the first few weeks

Best elective unit I've ever taken! Topics are all interesting, easy HD if you engage in content, assessments are mostly small and simple. Transitioned to online seamlessly, and unit coordinators happy get to contact by email.

Interesting and well-organized contents! Lecturers come from different faculties and schools, and they are all very helpful! You’ll learn a lot from this unit! Final exam is just 40 MCQs, no textbook needed. You’ll get good grades if you engage in the topics discussed in lectures. Thumbs up to the unit coordinator - Joe!

Really good and really interesting unit, you can tell the coordinators put a lot of work into the content. Lots of different topics are covered by different faculties so it was a really great learning experience. The only issue would be the frequency of assessments which were often marked quite harshly and as mentioned before had very low word counts for big topics. Would be a really good option for a broadening unit!

A good unit, the lectures are delivered by a diverse array of faculty (who are mostly good speakers, although the unit coordinator is very soporific!) exploring all kinds of fascinating facets, consequences and applications of the theory of evolution in biology and beyond. Clearly a lot of effort has gone into the unit by the coordinator and it has paid off. I agree with the person below about the abnormally small word counts for some assessments, but if you can keep organised with all the deadlines for the small tasks (this year 2x posing a question on the content, 4x feedback on others' questions, 2x 100 words, 1x 200 words, 1x 300 words, 1x 600 words, 1x 6 question online mcq quiz) it's a lot better than having to write a 1500 word essay like some units. Exam is 40mcq, 40% weighting only and was not too hard this year. Would reccomend.

Really interesting content! But the assignments were far too frequent and not worth much, and required being super on top of because they would never be mentioned in lectures or on LMS, so if you forget then you’re screwed. Assignments also tended to have an abnormally small word limit for what was required (eg. A 300 word blog that required the citation of multiple primary sources and addressed >3 subtopics).
