Bad unit!!!!! All of the lectures are vague, you have to put in a lot of work because the resources given barely relate to the assessments and the Essay is marked quite harshly given its difficulty

I loved this unit and ended up doing really well! It is quite content heavy but it sets you up really well for future anatomy units focusing on the same areas. One consideration is that not all of the lab content is explained in lectures. The embryology is intimidating but not impossible to understand. The co-ordinators went quite easy on us in the final practical and theory exams, the tests throughout the semester keep you accountable and make staying up to date easier. The cadaver labs were great to really solidify the content (I actually learnt majority of the content in these labs). I would highly recommend this unit!

2019 this unit is now run by different coordinators. It is extremely content heavy and the lectures are quite vague. You have to put a lot of your own time into studying and doing your own research as a lot is missed in the lectures. There is a weekly cadaver lab, you must understand the lecture content before even attempting the lab. All in all I did not enjoy this unit and found it very stressful, hopefully they run it better next year.

Fantastic unit - useful content, great delivery

I enjoyed this unit so much more than the first year anatomy units. In fact it was the unit that made me choose my major. It's a real anatomy unit!!

Overall really enjoyable and interesting unit, the labs are great and easy marks, as are the revision activities. The second test was super hard (average was a fail) but exams weren't too bad.

Nick and Hazel are a fantastic team and lecture the unit fantastically. Nick teaches a little unconventionally and it is a style that works well for more visual learners. The unit is interesting and based almost entirely on anatomy, so if you are looking for something that incorporates a bit of physiology this is not the unit for you. The labs are cadaver labs and are enjoyable and interesting. A lot of work is required for lab preparation, but you do get a lot more out of the labs if you are well prepared. The unit is not one where you can do the bare minimum and scrape by, but if you are prepared to work hard it is very rewarding and I enjoyed it immensely.

I thought I hated anatomy when I started this unit but Nick has a fantastic way of explaining things and the lab classes are brilliant. I had a lot of fun in this unit; Nick and the demonstrators have a contagious enthusiasm for the topic. My only criticism is the subjective way that the lab work is graded.

Great unit. The lecturer is really great, and tells you everything you need to know. Learning the given diagrams and making the most of the labs is very important. Don't forget a variety of highlighters to make it easier on yourself.
