Very content heavy unit, it may be a bit easier for someone who has studied HBIO in school but if you didn't like me you might spend a lot of time focusing on this unit. You have a new lecturer each week, some are good and some not so good. If you keep up with the test and pre-labs you can go into the exam with an easy 40% already but don't fall behind as I felt they progressively got harder to get full marks. I wouldn't recommend doing this unit if it isn't compulsory, like I said it was content-heavy and time-consuming, but if you have to do it don't stress too much as I was still able to achieve a HD

This unit was very content heavy, squishing a whole year’s worth of content that you’d see in high school Human Biology into one semester. We tend to see different lecturers every week, some who are better than others in the way they explain fundamental concepts. Tutorials were useful and interactive which was a great way to meet new people. HD can be achieved but effort and a little bit of luck will be required. As the reviews before me say, you should ensure that you walk into the exam with 40% in the bag. The exam that was all multiple choice due to COVID-19 was moderate hard.

This unit is very interesting but it also has a large amount of content. There are 3 lectures a week and an end of year exam worth 60%. The lectures are amazing and the 2-hour labs are super helpful.

Great unit, awesome unit coordinators. Thomas Lea is a great tutor. You can get 100% for 40% of the assessment just by showing up to tutes and repeating the online assessments until you get to 90% (this gives you the full marks for each). Lectures are quite in depth (also all at 9am), I imagine it would be quite difficult if you didn't do Human Bio at school, I did so the content was a good refresher, slightly more in depth in the primates section (which I didn't like). HD is easily achieved with a bit of study effort, if you fully complete all the online tests and prelabs a pass in the exam would guarantee you a distinction in the unit.

There is a large amount of content within this unit, but most of the lecturers condense the required information into easy to digest chunks. The quality of the lecturers and my tutor was extremely high, which really made this unit very enjoyable. The weekly pre-labs and quizzes were easy if you had just revised the content, which I recommend, and if you tried a few times the 90% mark was easy to reach. All in all, I would highly recommend this unit.

I enjoyed this unit. Had to do this course as a prerequisite for another unit I want to do, and hence was a bit skeptical. The course is very content heavy and requires a tonne of work to stay on top of things - there are weekly prelabs and quizzes which take a while to do, HOWEVER, you can do each multiple times so it's easy to set yourself up well for the exam if you consistently aim for the over 90% mark (which nets you full marks for that component - I was on 100% before going into the exam). The lecturers/ unit coordinators aim to make the course fun and I found a lot of the content very interesting. The weekly emails were especially great. I feel some of the content was pointless in the bigger scheme of the unit (primates, etc). Tutorials were a blast and really helped to cement the knowledge that you know you didn't retain in lectures. If you have to do it it's good, would not do it if I didn't need it just because of the insane amount of work.

Like has been said by previous reviews this unit is very content heavy (not going to lie), requires alot of time and i wouldn't recommend doing it if it's not compulsory. But if you do have to do it don't freak out too much- I didn't do Human Bio in year 11 or 12 and I still managed to get a HD. I would say make sure you keep on top of the Pre-Labs and Quizzes, even though they get annoying keep doing them and aim for the full grade if possible; that way there's less pressure to do well in the exam

Don’t do this course if it’s not apart of your major. Save yourself the time and stress.

Fun unit with amazing lecturers and tutors. It’s also better and easier than ANHB1102 in my opinion.
