Half math, half statistics & quite easy to understand if you have background in math (2U is fine). if you plan to study economics major, def need to know regression well in this unit because it helps a lot later on.

Heavy on homework so make sure you do them in time. It is important you attempt most/all of them because they appear in the quizzes. The online practice questions also appear in both the quizzes and final exam. This subject uses content from 2U maths (derivatives & integration) but it shouldn't be hard to follow if you didn't do maths in high school. As long as you are diligent in studying the lecture notes, completing your homework and using your tutor effectively; you should be able to achieve a good mark. This subject really requires you to spend a lot of time on it..

It is a relatively hard subject since it goes back to calculus and econometrics. I suggest students prepare well and do all the homework. The assignment is confusing but the marks are generous (only in the assignment).

Simple yet able to capture the essential of applied mathematics in business decision. Great foundation on econometrics and very broad level of knowledge ranging from basic functions to optimisation problem.
