Teaches you the basics of line and tone, mark making techniques, form. You can choose to work with your own mark making materials although the majority of work seems to be done with charcoal. I found it a little vague at times exactly what the examiners found to be a good drawing, as what may have looked pleasing to you was not "dynamic" or teased out enough. I guess you have to risk ruining a drawing sometimes... Experimentation is encouraged. Will give you some techniques to use in further projects.
