Enjoyable subject but exam left a lot to be desired

If your primary reason for taking this subject is because you are interested in children or think it'll teach you important things for when you reach parenthood, DO NOT take this subject, because that is only a very small aspect of it. A good portion of the course is focused on the philosophy of morality and ethics- not something I am interested in, as a science student. The major report is also really difficult, the average mark is usually something like 63% which is pretty bad considering how heavily weighted the assignment is.
