really great unit, although the marking is a bit unfounded - otherwise fascinating!!

Really good introduction to philosophy and fairly easy if you engage.

Really great, interesting unit. Introductory so nothing too difficult.

A solid introduction to concepts you can study in great detail in future philosophy courses

A good overview of metaphysics, ethics and aesthetics. Individual perspectives are allowed to shine in tutorial discussion and particularly through the assessments. The amount of reading material is optimal, though occasionally dense. However, excluding aesthetics, the course is taught traditionally (Kant and Hume are repeatedly cited throughout the course), so do not expect to cover much philosophy of more contemporary times.

A fulfilling unit for lovers of philosophy. Reality and ethics were great, the lecturers for those two topics were amazing! However, beauty was much more difficult than the other two topics and I personally did not like the lecture style, it made me feel more like I was watching a TED talk.

Great intro to philosophy. Metaphysics and Ethics were as expected but Aesthetics was new to me and very interesting. Tutors all know their stuff as do lecturers although that old dude whose belly hangs out is nuts. Good tutorial discussion and interesting essays with good choice of topics.

Great survey course. But its more like a history of philosophy rather than getting your feet wet in the practice of philosophy. Don't try to hard to come up with new ideas - the lecturers and tutors don't care, they've heard it all before and you're just wasting you time since its more about learning what the Plato's and Hume's of the world think...

This was a great subject. The content was interesting, the tutorials were engaging and there was a lot of extra help for assignment and exam preparation.
