Best subject ever! (also, like, the hardest second year subject in the whole of usyd)

Florica is a fantastic and inspiring lecturer. Her enthusiasm and passion for mathematics is abundantly clear through her teaching style. Due to the course being very content heavy she does go fast at times, however this is necessary to get through the whole course without rushing through some topics and utilising the practice class for consolidation. The course can quickly get overwhelming and difficult if you're trying to catch up from behind, but if you stay up to date, each new concept is a natural progression from previous concepts. The course is complementary to topics in MATH2961, and is a necessary introduction to rigorous proof-writing and the shift to an axiomatic approach present in 2nd year mathematics onwards. Definitely take this course if you plan on taking any further math units. Also, Daners' lecture notes are well-written and easy to follow, I would definitely recommend buying these if you plan on taking the course.

Florica is amazing. Her enthusiasm is contagious. The rigor here never seems to be boring, if sometimes a bit repetitive.
