I didn't think I would enjoy first-year Latin, but I turned out to be - happily - mistaken. Really interesting subject and immensely satisfying - more than any other subject I've taken in my Arts degree so far, LATN1600 and LATN1601 gave me a real sense of having accomplished something. I would also highly recommend taking Latin as an elective to anyone studying other languages. The grasp you get on grammar, morphology, and syntactical structures from taking either of these units really improves your understanding of other languages.
