Found this subject pretty easy

Biology was such an interesting subject, one of my favourites. The best thing about it was the labs - they were clean, and we did a variety of very different types of labs throughout the semester. I enjoyed the major assignment, which was a research report. The instructors really took us through step by step to eventually work up the skills to be able to write the report. We started with a draft, got feedback on it, then wrote it. The worst thing about it was that some of the lectures were quite boring - like there was a whole (unassessable) lecture just on the history of some figures such as Darwin which was fascinating but I would prefer to spend more time on the important stuff!!!

Great subject! I had a very good experience. Some pracs were very fun (the mating prac hahaha). Lots of resources, good distribution of marks across assessments, organised very well.

Well structured and organised unit covering three very broad areas - cell biology, genetics and evolution. The final exam is only worth 38%, so there are ample opportunities throughout Semester to increase your marks. My number 1 tip would be to start your research report early, as it will take longer than you think!

Inheritance and population genetics were the easiest part for me as it's essentially calculations. Madeleine Beekman brought Evolution to life - captivating delivery of material!! Cell Biology really tests your ability to rote learn - this was the hardest part for me.

This unit was really interesting and I felt it gave me a very solid grounding in the subject. As someone who had never taken biology before, I found the subject was well taught and easy to follow. The regular quizzes meant that you had to be across everything and already had notes for the final exam! All round, a very well organised and useful subject.

How hard is it to pass this class if your just trying to get a 50%?

Very well organised and set out. Really appreciated all the tutorials prior to the quizzes. Extremely beneficial to my learning. Perhaps next time, make clear that the draft worth 2% is not to be stressed about. As in, students do not to stay up all night ensuring perfection.
