Such a shame that this course was taught by an inexperienced lecturer when I took it. I don't have a great interest in psychopathology or clinical psychology, but I found the content really fascinating. Unfortunately, the lecturer was very nervous and so read off the slide for the whole semester, and didn't have the experience to answer clinical questions. However, the accompanying textbook was FANTASTIC and a really interesting read. I would almost suggest just reading the textbook. Also, find some resources online with practise questions related to the textbook, they'll make your exam prep so so so much easier. The assignment was worth a lot (40%) but is easy as long as you ask your tutor exactly what goes in which section; they're just going off a criteria sheet, so just tick every box and you'll do fine.

An interesting subject that is heavily brought down by some poor delivery of lectures by both the main lecturer and the guest lecturer, both of whom clearly struggled with public speaking and were often taxing to listen to. However, the content is certainly interesting and the guest speaker program (where for an hour after the lecture students listen to the lived experience of someone with a mental illness) was greatly informative. Tutorials were extremely helpful in exam preparation, and tutors were often easy to speak with, although tutorials were often rushed due to time constraints.

I had such high Hope's for this course. The lecturer even sounded bored teaching it. This could be such an interesting engaging subject if it tried.

PSYC3102 is taught in a very dull way, for such interesting content. The exam is 90% content that isn't taught in the lectures, textbooks or any other assessable material.
