Extremely fun class! With wonderful teachers, I learned content that easily followed previous learned content and participated in fun activities such as singing!

Very enjoyable Japanese subject. It is a little heavy in kanji and vocabulary, but that is essential when learning this language. For students who have completed senior Japanese from BSHS, this course is like a refresher and most of the grammar points have been learnt from Gr 11-12. Nonetheless,I highly recommended that students do this course in order to learn more kanji, cultural knowledge as well as vocab. Additionally, this course is good for students who have prior knowledge of high school standard Japanese and want to continue learning it at Uni in their first year.

Very vocab and kanji heavy!! Make sure you are familiar and comfortable with each weeks work before the next because they all build on top of each other and it can become overwhelming. It's very difficult to fail this subject of you simply pass all the assessment throughout the semester before the final exam. I would recommend the use of a kanji dictionary as a lot is inteoduced each week

Very challenging start to the Japanese degree if you're used to doing nothing in high school Japanese. In hindsight, I can see it was very worthwhile.
