A great introduction to more complex programming concepts, including the object-oriented paradigm, by way of the Java language. The assignments were designed to build on each other, allowing students to get a full sense of how a software system might come together.

This course was run by Joel Fenwick when I did it. Joel is an amazing lecturer, but his marking style is very rigid because of the computer automation. The lessons I learned from this subject are to always pay close attention to the specification. Otherwise, you have no leg to stand on when you deviate.
