Reviews

Did this last year but thought I should give an updated review because the older reviews most definitely do not reflect the unit. Much like Chem 1A (but somehow worse) in the sense of content overload. Unlike Chem 1A in teaching and passion from the lecturer, really seems as though he’s just there for his pay. Same layout at 1A so don’t expect anything different. I learnt more from Khan academy. Speaking to my peers I am most definitely not the only one who holds the above beliefs. GET A TUTOR even if you know you’re good at sciences.

Poorly organised, too many students per class and way too much content in the little time that is given to learn such a difficult unit. Everybody basically felt as if we were set up for a fail from the beginning. I will be redoing 1517 in semester 2 2018 though as it is a prerequisite for everything 😭

Interesting content. Revision and Khan Academy are a must for this subject. Well organised. Mid semester test was a bit difficult. There was a typo in one of the final exam questions.

taught erratically with a horrible mid sem exam but luckily 2nd half of course is much better

Keep up with the content and revise revise revise. Khan Academy was my Holy Grail for a deeper understanding of this subject.
