UQ Science Tutor Riley

Hi! My name is Riley, I'm a secondary senior Mathematics Teacher, and I am currently studying a Diploma of Science (will do a Masters in Conservation starting Sem 2, for which I am super keen). I have experience teaching both senior Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics (equivalent to MATH1040 and MATH1050 respectively). I did my maths here at UQ before finishing my teaching studies at QUT and then working in Charters Towers in 2021 followed by here in Brisbane at Brisbane State High School in 2022 and 2023. I also received a 99.95 ATAR, but that was a million years ago and I'd rather think that my experience working with top level students proves my current experience! I particularly like talking through difficult topics and checking for understanding rather than just drowning my students in difficult problems, but I do also have a large bank of high school level MM and SM questions if you are looking for resources to practice with. I prefer to tutor online (I have a virtual whiteboard setup on my iPad), but I am available on campus on request. Looking forward to working with you!
