SECTION 1 GAMSAT TUTOR - 99.99th percentile **Fully booked out for September 2024 GAMSAT** Hello! My name is Rachael and I am a S1/S2 GAMSAT tutor. I am currently studying the Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sydney. I have worked as a GAMSAT tutor for 3.5 years, having achieved a 98th percentile score in September 2020, with a score of 81 in S1 (99.99th percentile), 73 in S2, and 71 in S3. I primarily specialise in tutoring Section 1, but also offer Section 2 tutoring. I have developed my own curriculum to cover all the essential text types and question types that come up in section 1. I teach a range of different skills that enable you to approach section 1 questions with both theory and reasoning. Throughout tutoring, I will provide you with a range of notes and weekly worksheets of practice questions to consolidate your learning. I have successfully helped many students increase their GAMSAT scores. Please note: All my tutoring is conducting via Zoom. I typically book out for GAMSAT tutoring very early so please reach out as soon as possible. I also have a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts (Honours), and a Diploma in Languages (French) from the University of Melbourne. I graduated from linguistics honours with a WAM of 86.9. I have previously been employed as a linguistics tutor at St Hilda's College and Trinity College at UniMelb, and a GAMSAT tutor at International House, UniMelb, as well as with GradReady. I am also available for linguistics/general essay tutoring, and have received grades above 90 for essays, including: 95 in LING30001 - Exploring Linguistic Diversity (the Linguistics capstone) 94 in LING20009 - Language in Aboriginal Australia 94 in LING30014 - Australian Indigenous Languages 92 in FREN30006 - French Translation 92 in LING40008 - Experimental Phonetics I also received an 84 in Phonetics and a 94 in Syntax, the two 2nd year Linguistics core subjects. I was the 2020 recipient of the Appen Prize for Excellence in Linguistics at Melbourne Uni, and I also received the Esma May Harris scholarship and the Rabbi Brasch scholarship from the University of Sydney.

Rachael tutored me for Section 1 of the GAMSAT, which I found incredibly useful. Even though I came from a humanities background, her various notes and strategies for approaching each of the text types in a logical, evidence-focused way made the content far easier to digest and greatly improved my understanding for how to answer S1 questions. I also love her teaching style, as she was more than willing to go through each of the questions slowly and deliberately until I understood exactly why an answer was correct. Rachael is a fantastic tutor who gave me a lot of confidence going into the GAMSAT, and I would definitely recommend her to anybody taking the GAMSAT.

I had Rachael as GAMSAT S1 and S2 tutor. I never really studied literature and S1 is a nightmare for me. Rachael provided many fantastic strategies to answer these questions in a rational way. I feel much more confident in this section. She has varied range of resources cover all different type of passages. Her explanations make sense and she tackles every questions with reasoning rather than “feeling”. She also has rationally designed strategy to write S2 essays, which helped me a lot to express my reasoning and logic in a clear order. I highly recommend Rachael for both sections.

I had Rachael as a Section 1 tutor in preparation for my March 2022 GAMSAT sitting. Rachael was able to give me a number of strategies to approach the Section 1 text types as well as provide general exam techniques. She had an extensive variety of resources which meant we were able to cover a range of different questions/stem types. Additionally, Rachael was friendly and approachable and could clearly explain her approach to answering questions. I could not recommend Rachael more highly.

Rachael helped me prepare for section 1 leading into my third GAMSAT sitting. I felt a marked increased in my confidence in tackling many of the section 1 text types using the techniques Rachael teaches.
