Reviews and tips for COS10009

I (Dung Lai, 101467732) do this subject in semester 1 2017 and luckily got 100. You will learn basic programming with Pascal first then syntax translating your Pascal program to C. I have no background in programming before but still get good mark, so don't be afraid if you haven't done any programming before because they will teach you from the very basic. Overall, we learn: condition statement (If else, case), Loops (For while do), data types (single, double, char, integer, string, boolean,...), playing with enumeration and record/struct, file IO, creating graphic user interface (GUI) using existing library (swinGame), for higher mark, we have pointer and custom program/ "research" report. I do tutoring this subject with but actually you have programming helpdesk which runs every working day and extremely helpful. But just give me a message if you need my help!

Be prepared to struggle if you have no background in Programming. You're at a huge disadvantage, which you wouldn't expect with introduction in the title. There is a huge workload that comes along with the unit and if you want to get more than a Pass you are required to complete additional tasks.
