Unit is structured very well and the mastering chemistry is very helpful

I personally struggle with chemistry and I feel like the unit not employing attendance based lectures made it much harder to get a grasp of the concepts explained. Think of it this way, you are essentially doing a years worth of year 12 chemistry, and the basics of uni level chemistry all in one semester, it is fairly difficult to keep up, but if you can sustain the barrage it will prove a useful edition to your knowledge.

As someone who always struggled with chemistry in high school, I found this unit surprisingly easy to understand. The textbook, along with mastering chemistry, are very good at explaining most concepts. Just make sure you don't fall behind, and devote extra effort to organic chem in the last couple weeks because you don't get a lot of help with that module.

Very good introduction to chemistry

Essential core unit for science units, it provides a basic fundamentals in chemistry, chemical concepts and techniques. Can be quite daunting for those who have no prior chem background but with practice and determination, you would see the results. Plus, it is fun especially with labs where you get that practical skills.

A fast-paced unit but provides a comprehensive overview of basic chemistry.
