Pretty boring lectures but were very informative. Textbook is definitely not essential. recommend going to the tutes as they are pretty much the types of questions from the exam and the tutors will help you with the questions, most challenging part for me was probability section but if you have not done SCI1020 this unit may be abit harder in other parts. The Unit notes are a godsend for lectures, assignments and exam revision so make sure you either get them online or buy them. Project is an easy 15% if you and your group know the content decently

A bit dull. The lecturer spoke in a monotone voice consistently and the content was a bit boring. Hardly anyone showed up to the lectures from the third or fourth week. On a whole though it is more difficult than SCI1020 and lots of people complained they were not informed of this, it is easy enough if you did specialist and methods in Year 12 as some content overlaps.

Easy D or HD with minimal study. Would recommend.

Quite content heavy unit with lots of contact hours. However, you get lots of face to face contact with tutors to help you if you need. And assignments aren't too difficult!

Amazing unit. Very thorough introduction to statistics, great lecturers and tutors. Workshops are "round table" style and collaborative (you don't need to collaborate if this is not your thing). There is a fun group project where you collect real world data and make statistical analysis. This unit is challenging and requires hours of home study, as it involves doing a lot of exercises. Lecture notes are great but I also recommend reading (at least skimming through) the prescribed textbook, it is really useful for understanding the concepts.

Topics are similar to VCE Further or VCE Methods. Challenging if you haven't previously complete Methods or have similar maths.
