Terribly run unit. Assignments are confusing and marked arbitrarily as there is no marking criteria and barely any guidelines. The 2 hour tutorials are a waste of time as there is not enough content to last for the full 2 hours, but they'll try to make you stay regardless. Tutors are useless and barely know anything about the unit or the content. But there is no end of semester exam and you'll only have to deal with the two in semester exams which are both very easy. So if you want an easy unit to pass at the cost of having to do 3 annoying assignments, than you could take this unit. But really there are probably much better options for you to take.

This unit was pretty easy to pass but not easy to get a HD. The assignments are written extremely poorly and they have no marking rubric so its difficult to over exactly what the unit wants. As well as this I had a horrendous tutor who was a bully. He would only answer questions from boys and when a girl would speak he would make them feel dumb for asking. When I asked a question about the assignment he just yelled over me overtime I spoke until I stopped speaking. Don’t do this unit if you want a HD but if you just want an easy unit to pass go for it. Also the second half of semester is pretty boring and the first half is mostly common knowledge.

Pretty good unit, not too difficult and no exam. The first assignment was probably the hardest one.

SCI1300 is super relaxed. The first half is well organised and interesting and not particularly hard. The second half is rather disorganised, but its interesting. The assessments are marked slightly arbitrarily but there is no exam which is awesome.
