This unit is terrible - the teaching team is incredibly vague about how things are marked and there are so many hidden criteria in their assessments. Furthermore, the CE refuses to provide a mark breakdown for Assignment 2 (at a weightage of 50% of the entire unit!) so I could not tell how many marks I lost for a single section. The examples provided to the students in the slides they give weekly and faulty and could cause you marks if you just follow them. I feel very demotivated to do this unit because of how stingy the teaching team are with giving out marks - for context, in one of the previous semesters, only 3 out of approximately 600 students scored HD. I have friends who got relatively good feedback for their work but only get a grade of D, not even HD. It does not give me an incentive to learn - in fact, after taking this unit, I am driven away from the project management field and never want to delve into it. I would say that at least the teaching team seem to be trying to improve it.

This unit unfortunately sucks. The only redeeming quality is that the teaching team seem to be actively trying to improve it, revamping the entire structure to make it more application and interaction focused, which I can understand and appreciate. But I found myself just not caring at all about this unit. I didn't care about the content, I didn't care about the assignments or the context of the assignments, I felt zero connection to anything about this unit. This is mostly coming from a place of severe annoyance being forced take this "core" subject. My course's study design as early as 2022 did not have this subject even as an elective, so I'm clueless as to why a precious subject slot is allocated as compulsory to this unit over potentially way more interesting and technical ones. I think this can actually be a good and effective unit, and can prep people for industry more on the IT/project management side. But this unit was "forced" on me when two years ago it wouldn't have been, and by that nature I hate it.

This is a poorly run unit. While the contents of the unit could’ve been interesting, The lecturer for this unit is not. The lecturer is unengaging and she rambles a lot during her discussion of topics on project management and PMBOK and her slides (over 100 long) aren’t informative as they contain way too many diagrams with almost little to no explanation. On top of this, the assignments were unreasonably and arbitrary marked by the tutors (for reference, out of the entire cohort only 1 to 2 person managed to score HD consistently for this unit). A majority of the time even the tutors don’t seem bothered to read the project plans or reflection submitted by students and simply mark by how we perform referencing and structure of our report instead of the actual quality of the writing. Overall, I’m glad I don’t have to take this awful unit anymore
