Reviews

Was a great unit, the content was covered well by the lecturers, they were able to make class engaging and include helpful activities, without letting the activities take over. The labs ran so that the content covered in labs and workshops were aligned, so the labs helped to cement the knowledge.

If you're thinking about doing this from CHM1011 don't be intimidated by the name, almost all of the content and the exam are the same as 1022, except there is more focus on the labs and planning. The labs can get pretty intense so make sure you get yourself into a group that wont do everything last second. Recommend taking extra time to understand Resonance in Organic chem as this for me was the most challenging part both. GO TO THE LECTURES as especially in 1052 there is a smaller cohort and the lecturers are great at answering questions. And for the last lab, make sure you know the content through and through as the oral is the TA asking you and your group questions about theory and the practical itself.

A fantastic unit which is both challenging and enthralling. Some great demonstrators and lecturers will make the heavy work load somewhat manageable

Great subject, the lecturers and demonstrators are really helpful. The workshops and lab complement the lectures really well
