Content heavy but easy to do well in. There can be a lot of rote learning if you haven't done year 12 biology.

Very logical subject, easy to do well if you put your mind to it and keep up, HD in the bag. Repetitive labs but the assessment is easy. I found the content very interesting as it was more logic than rote learning. Despite being the only unit with a PASS class, it’s the easiest unit I did this semester. I hadn’t done VCE bio but didn’t feel the least bit disadvantaged. I hope you love this unit as much as I did and do well in it!

One of the easy units for many people. It is quite simple and straight forward. Make sure you achieve above 90 WAM in this unit. Not a very tedious job.

A content heavy unit with very tedious labs. Felt like I repeated the same prac 5 times but I guess working in genetics is like that. Make sure you stay AWAKE for the whole unit as small details can make a difference. Might be difficult for those that haven't done VCE biology.

First half of the semester is just revision of year twelve biology; simple to pick up. The laboratories are really good for marks, because the worksheets are easy to complete and the microbiology quizzes are easy to get a HD on if you pay attention. Study hard for the exam though; a LOT of content and trick questions. Worth 60% of unit mark, so it is what you're working toward. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the first half of the semester. Overall a really good unit!
