The lectures were pretty boring but more importantly, there was a lack of guidance and resources for the assignments. I feel like the lectures put you right into the deep end with how he formats these lectures and only touches on the important concepts. Considering how the assignments were not your typical essays, more guidance should have been provided to help the students. Another disappointment was the COIL program which did not meaningfully contribute to my cultural understanding because there was only one international student amongst six Monash students - imagine the pressure. Overall, not a first pick but a lot of criminology units aren't running because of the recent cuts so I wouldn't recommend this unit, instead definitely do ATS3004.
