Definitely a total bludge unit, I will say however that for how ridiculously easy the first few assessment pieces are, the quiz at the end of the semester really threw me off, as it was mostly comprised of content that was not really discussed within the tutorials. That being said I’d still recommend taking this class if you’re looking for something a bit easy and laid back

This unit was fun, but I almost failed two assignments as other tutors did not agree with, understand, or know of the standards or practices of academic writing which are taught in this unit. Each tutor is different and this unit shouldn't be taken as a guide for all writing across university

The unit is super easy and is a really good elective unit if you are looking for something with less hassle. You have to do the assessments well. The lectures are not really worth going for. Nothing special about them. If you spend a decent amount of effort on the assessments and do well in them, getting a D or HD for this is super easy.

Great unit, wonderful lecturer and tutors, definitely recommend for those new to uni, it actually teaches you how to write well academically. A plus side is that the reading is very manageable and the workload it minimal compared to other units. However, I do suggest you actually buy the textbook.

Great subject to take first semester of your uni degree. Really helps you understand the difference between what is expected at high school and what is expected at university level.
