Overall this class is good. However, the lecturer was difficultly to understand and if it was not for the Orange campus lectures being provided to the DE students I would not have been able to grasp the content. I have done statistics previously in a different course which made this subject easier to do.

A necessary evil for the course I'm afraid! As you can tell I'm not a lover of maths although I'm average at it. The optional res was well worth it & the extra time spent going through various problems with the lecturer really made a difference. Don't be fooled by the open book exam! I found writing out various problems & each step of the solution in a separate book a great help as time can quickly get away from you if you're constantly flicking through the text at the exam. Save yourself the money & grab an older copy of the text as well. Allow plenty of time spent on practicing all the problems as there are plenty uploaded to Interact.

I found lectures really hard to follow and understand. I worked through my textbook and took my time with the assignments and I surprised myself by doing well. Study groups are essential if you are struggling.

Book crap - don't waste your money. Focus on the lectures and the study guide to learn the coursework. At the end just keep going over old exams repeatedly - it will get you through. Reasonably straightforward subject.
